Lynn,
The InstallFest is always the last Saturday of the month, so this month it's the 29th.
You shouldn't need to bring your monitor. We usually have an extra available. If you have the specs for yours (resolution that you run it at, at least) that will help.
Fedora Core 2 or Mandrake 10.1 would be good choices for a desktop system. Let me know if you want something else let me know and I'll try to have CDs available.
