I wonder if you have a broken or wrong files in your .mozilla directory.
I have had problems switching between different versions of mozilla and
have had to move .mozilla files out of the way.
Maybe you can try moving your ~/.mozilla directory.

So use an old mozilla that was built for your old operating system.
