I setup a box on a new hard drive for a friend of a friend, but the box is
now showing severe filesystem errors.
Something has come up and I can't help w/ it until next week, so I'd like
to send my friend to the InstallFest for help :).
I had run into problems with the box before, so have already let memtest
run on it overnight but got no errors. Lots of other places for hardware
errors, though :(.
We did the initial install by copying off an install on another, older
disk. The other disk hasn't thrown any errors, but that doesn't mean that
it isn't where the corruption started.
As this is a request for a specific problem I'd like to see if we can
have someone(s) specific, who is familiar w/ hardware trouble-shooting,
prearranged to help him.
Alexander, can you ( or someone else ) co-ordinate having someone ready?
I'd really appreciate it.
