A side issue that I would look into for your situation...

The Windows XP EULA used to contain (still contains?) this paragraph:

"Except as otherwise permitted by the NetMeeting, Remote Assistance, and
Remote Desktop features described below, you may not use the Product to
permit any Device to use, access, display, or run other executable
software residing on the Workstation Computer, nor may you permit any
Device to use, access, display, or run the Product or Product's user
interface, unless the Device has a separate license for the Product."

I read this to mean that you cannot display the Windows XP user interface
on another "Device" unless that device also has a separte license for
Windows XP. If I am corrent in my interpretation, that means remotely
displaying your Windows XP desktop on a computer without a Windows XP
license, breaks the license to use Windows XP on the remote computer.

Enforceable and unrealistic? Maybe. But, if that paragraph is in your
current license, you my want to think about what it means for what you are
doing.

I am not a lawyer. Get your own legal advice. Etc. and so on... Also, I
have not checked a Windows XP EULA in a while so it may have changed.
Maybe.

Google '"windows xp" vnc remote' to get some hits on discussions of this
issue.
