Does anyone have any experience with ISDN with respect to the
ability to have remote access (port forward to another internal
server)?
We have just installed an external 3com unit (3c892-a) and there
appears to be no advanced features to port forward, etc. I even commented
to someone this week that a 30.00 LinkSys (for cable/dsl) will do more than
than this 2-300.00 isdn modem/'router'.
This client really needs the ability to have rmeote access to some data
on their apache server. We upgraded the line from dialup to ISDN (the only
high speed available in his area) specifically for this purpose (aside
from the obvious speed increase).
I would prefer to handle all NAT/filtering/port forwarding using OpenBSD...
But have discovered there is limited support for ISDN under OpenBSD.
I could be wrong.
Are there ISDN units (external) available that perform these advance functions?
Or, should I consider an internal unit under Linux? Is anyone aware of an
OpenBSD solution?
I'd also like to lump on the ability to handle IPSec...for future use...although
not critical at the moment.
Any recommendations?
