There is no RedHat10, it's otherwise known as Fedora Core 1 (I think
that's the split to which you refer). I've updated from RH9 to FC1 with
no problem, although some people have reportedly had problems with the
upgrade. FC1 contains the 2.4.x kernel. Fedora Core 2 was realeased
May'04 and contains the 2.6.x kernel. That's a bit more of a jump.
Personally, I'd upgrade to FC1 and see how it goes. If everything's ok
after a period of time, then go for FC2. FC2 is quite stable, but going
from FC1 to FC2 involves a major kernel release. I haven't upgraded from
FC1 to FC2, but I have installed FC2 from scratch and it's working very
well so far. If you don't have any substantial configuration on your RH9
system, you might also consider doing a fresh install of FC2, wiping out
RH9, or even a dual boot if you have HD space available.
