I realize that the install fest is for installing software, but given
the high concentration of brilliant minds I thought I would ask for some
OT help.
My hard drive crashed and I had to install a new one (with Debian). I
would like to get some help to see if any of the data can be recovered
from the crashed drive. I am not an expert in data recovery, and the
data is not worth the thousands of dollars that companies charge to
recover it. However, if someone is willing to invest a little time to
show me some tools or techniques for at least determining if the problem
is either a dead drive or just a corrupt boot sector, I would greatly
appreciate it.
Please let me know if someone will be there who may be able to help.
Thanks!
Mark Phillips
