You need to read the MOSIX docs to better understand what it can do. If
XMMS is bogging you down, you might want to consider either upgrading to
something made within the last 4 years :) or trying a lighter window
manager. There's no reason why XMMS should bog you down.

I used a Duron 600 with 768MG of PC100 memory and I could download data,
burn CD's and watch mpg's without skipping frames.
