It's entirely naive to think you can hurl a bomb and not expect people
to notice the bang. You can be assured that upon reading that, anything
else was bound to be lost - even with people that don't use Red Hat.

I have little inclination to get into a distro discussion with someone
with marginal understanding of the various distro's, only a bad
experience when he had even less understanding than he does now.

Obviously Red Hat has chosen an interesting path - a stable commercial
product and a bleeding edge community based product and the great thing
about Linux is that if a particular distro doesn't suit your needs,
there are others to choose from. Disparaging this or that distro is a
fools game.

I am grateful that Debian exists. It is Linux in its most pure form -
free from any corporate domination.

I am grateful for Red Hat's interest in pushing the envelope in
businesses and their success.

I am grateful for Novell's commitment to Linux and think that they will
likewise push things along.

I am struggling to figure out where the Mac OS X fits in with all of
this but even if I don't get it, some people do and that's ok too.

I cannot understand the purpose of characterizing Microsoft as the
darkest recess of the dark - they obviously dominate the industry and
provide at least some of the standard of software/network standards that
must be considered. There's little purpose too rehashing their monopoly,
their predatory practices, etc. since this message base is about Linux.

Now, if you had a point somewhere, it's long since been lost in your
insensitive comment.

Craig
