Everything looks correct. The serial port you are connecting to is
probably /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyS1. With all the settings as you have
described them, you should be able to connect your serial cable, then
power cycle the switch. Tap the [Enter] key a few times to send some
characters to the switch. This should be enough to establish the serial
connection. If you do not see the switch printing anything back to your
screen at this point, then you probably have a bad cable or a bad
switch.
