How's about a gander at your XF86Config[-4]? I had a hard time getting

One thing I might suggest first off is to make sure you're using the
latest DRM modules (the ones that come with X itself if you're on 2.4.x,
or the ones that come with 2.6 ought to be fine). That was my main
problem with my 9200. I believe that you'd want to 'emerge xfree-drm'.
