When faced with the decision of choosing reiserfs or ext3, I googled for
performance comparisons, and found site after site stating ext3
performed better than reiserfs for speed. Combined with very stable
code, I therefore chose ext3.
On the other hand, reiserfs allows dynamic resizing of the filesystem
under Linux Volume Management, which for a home machine is neat, but far
from critical to me. I used it for a while and now use ext3
exclusively.
Just my random thoughts.
