Tisk.. our tax dollars at work, NOT.
This sort of thing makes me wish the 'inevitable' would happen sooner than later
meaning
artist -> consumer
and not
artist -> RIAA -> consumer
It's bad enough they charge $16-$20 for 30 year old music, but using the FBI to
disrupt operations at a school district is out of hand. This should have been
1) an internal investigation with the FBI and school district
2) It should have been aimed specifically at whoever was 'stealing' music.
I put stealing in quotes because it's not like stealing a car,
it's more like making a shoddy copy of the car. If people are selling mp3's
I'm all for arresting them. But what is the difference from recording a song
from the radio and downloading a mp3?
Of all of the CD's I've bought, only 1 was from hearing it on the radio;
the others were from hearing the song on internet streams or from downloading
obscure stuff in the Napster days. I'd never heard of crystal method before
hearing their stuff from napster; I bought several of their CD's. I find that
techno music is ideal for long coding sessions ;).
It irritates me that these idiots don't see song downloading for what it is..
FREE ADVERTISING.
This is all about control, they've lost it and they know it.
I can't wait to see them fall.
