freeswan

I'm trying to setup a VPN with freeswan version 2.0 (does debian have
openswan?) with a VPN box from linksys on the other end. We are right
now doing a pre-shared key setup, IKE, and my i'm getting errors when I
do
ipsec manual --up test

I'm not even sure if i should be doing manual or automatic (ipsec manual
--up test vs. ipsec auto --up test)...in either case, my box doesn't
open up the tunnel and errors...here's the command and output:

[grimiore@nexus:grimiore]$ sudo ipsec manual --up test
/usr/lib/ipsec/spi --label test: Trouble building key_a extension,
error=-22.
[grimiore@nexus:grimiore]$

I've googled for trouble building key_a extension, and I get
nothing...anybody here have any ideas of what I should do next?
