Subject: OT: IDE support in Solaris and other Unices
I know many on this list have experience with other Unix flavors so this seems
a good place to ask this question.

Does Solaris and other Unices (Irix, AIX, etc.) support IDE storage devices?
Another way to ask it would be to ask if the hardware that runs these other
flavors of Unix provide an IDE controller and therefore support IDE devices.
I know that Solaris for the x86 supports IDE. What about on other hardware
like SPARC systems?

I am under the impression that out side of the Intel compatible world, most
storage hardware is SCSI and IDE is not supported. Is this correct?

Alan
