That's a question for an Apple salesperson. PowerBooks are generally the
higher-end laptops, intended for serious "business" use etc. iBooks are
the lower-end, intended for students and the like, priced accordingly
too.
IMHO, the iBook G3s are sexier than the iBook G4s which are completely
white. The G3s (keyboards primarily) are a semi-transparent white which
looks much better to me. Check out apple.com's store's "Special Deals"
(down the page on the left, red tag "SAVE") for their discontinued
(manufacturing only) merchandise. That's where I got my iBook G3 for
$700, a savings of about $500 off normal/original price. Looks like you
can get a PB G4 15" for only $1599 (regularly $2000+).
Anyways, that truly is a question for a salesperson, which I am not. I
can just offer a Linux view on it all :-).
