802.11a/g support is just coming around for linux. If the cards have an
atheros chipset, take a look at madwifi (google it for the link). It's
just in CVS/beta but shows promise.
Personally, I would get a plain 802.11b card if all I had was a 802.11b
router. IIRC, there's enough bandwidth in a plain PCMCIA card for
802.11b.
