Systems Support Specialist
This position focuses on providing help and Technical support to ADS
customers, essentially through Telephone and Internet/modem, for the ADS
solution. Duties include resolving computer software, network, and
Internet, paging, telephone, and hardware problems reported by users. The
specialist is also required to work with the users. vendors to help
resolve problems. They will also perform preventative maintenance on
users. hardware. Their responsibilities also include the building,
shipping and configuration of new customer systems*. The specialist
receives telephone calls from users and documents reported problems, tests
and analyzes problem, determines and recommends solutions.
* Not necessarily applicable to each candidate.
Skills/Requirements:
Must have UNIX administration skills
Must have a working knowledge of Windows administration
Working knowledge of hardware and hardware configurations
Excellent communication skills
Problem solver
Ability to research and analyze highly complex and technical problems
Working knowledge of networks and routers.
Degree preferred
3 Main Objectives
1. Customer account satisfaction . Each rep has designated accounts. They
are responsible for keeping those accounts happy.
2. Knowledge of our software
3. Troubleshooting capability.
my part:
most of the unix administration os SCO (please dont be hatin', we are
slowly migrating to redhat). Its not the typical support job, however.
Its 75% system admin, 25% support.
