Stu of the pid clan here, didn't read the cheatsheet
right, sorry folks. It works fine now and the 'save
confusion, er config' lets me just type at

boot: knoppix myconfig=scan.

and as I strain the eyes as it boots up, it says it is
a radeon 9000.
