I think in these cases it comes down to the excellent GNOME bindings
that are available for Python. I think both of these guys are using
those bindings. I believe that Redhat uses them extensively also (which
makes people believe they'll be around and supported). It's been enough
that I've downloaded "Dive into Python" and have started looking at it.
