I'm at a similar size company, and I can tell you that after much
consideration we're staying with RHEL on the servers and workstations.
Why? It's a damn good product, it's kept current, it's easy as hell to
update with RHN, and there's a corporate entity supporting it (read:
someone to blame if something goes wrong).

I would encourage you to talk to a Redhat Reseller, because you're
getting raped on that pricing that you mentioned.

(Note: I use gentoo for my personal stuff, because it fits the bill
nicely.)
