I did it and the CD drive worked, for a while.
The installer's output said that it recognized a device called "cd0"
and upon scanning for install sets on CD, found the CD drive.
I told it to install everything and it started.
It was almost done when I started getting I/O errors,
then I realized that this CD drive was one that I'd forgotten
to throw into the trash can, twice.
Soo, I get another drive, one that I'm pretty sure is working,
repeat, and now it works!
Now the hard part,
How do I make it useful?
((KDE, GUI stuff, etc., etc., etc.,....))
