In OO.o 1.1, try this:
1/ highlight the rows you want to collapse (in your case, Feb, Mar,
Apr, etc.)
2/ Under Data, choose Outline, then select Group.

Now to the left of the row numbers, you should have the -/+ expander
control, along with outline level selector buttons (1, 2) at the top.

Is this what you referred to?
