No, not really. Honestly, I'm not asking anything - I'm the maintainer
for GNOME-media, and thus GNOME-CD. I'm telling you this is a bug. I
think that this method will become more common. It is especially common
on laptops that have removable CD-ROM drives and thus a standard
connector that doesn't include analog audio. GNOME-media needs to
support this method of access seamlessly for the future (no clue how to
auto-detect it, but it should do that if possible too).
This probably won't be fixed for GNOME 2.6, there is alot to do with
changing versions of Gstreamer. But, hopefully for 2.8 :/
