Subject: kdm failed to preconfigure -- error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/sysv-rc_2.85-9_all.deb (--unpack)
Well, after a few hours I finally completed my upgrade.... but my update failed.
Here is what the computer said.

Preconfiguring packages ...
kdm failed to preconfigure, with exit status 30
(reading database ... 116410 files and directories installed.)
Unpacking sysv-rc (from .../sys-rc_2.85-9_all.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/sysv-rc_2.85-9_all.deb (--unpack)
:
trying to overwrite '/etc/init.d/rc' , whichis also in package sysvinit

Update failed - For reasons listed above.

Where do I find what that exit status means I tried man/info dpkg
and the --help file and variations.of config but couldn't find it.
