I guess I don't get it. I am a software engineer by trade, but for
right or wrong my daily job has me trained in accounting/financial
analytics for a large institution, as a pre-requiste for authoring
software for them.

I use GNUCash daily for several years now. I am not understanding this
"trusting beta software" crap. GNUCash is far from beta software in my
book. Add to that double entry accounting is pretty simple. In the
realm of "computing problems" it is very simple. =20

The it doesn't work with my bank I am not getting either. I bank at
Bank of America (for right or wrong) and I can download statements etc
and import them right into GNUCash.=20

The only major function I don't have that I used in Quicken is
budgeting.
