Thanks for all the tips, but I already have DMA enabled. Again, this
works fine in Gnome. So I've dropped KDE now. I spoke with some
developers on KDE last night and we couldn't get it resolved.
The one thing that finally got it working almost 100% correctly was
disabling the kmountd in the services panel in the kcontrol center. Once
I disabled the service it worked just about flawlessly. But in the
meantime I was playing with Gnome 2.4 and got all my extra buttons
working and such, and I love it. So I'm happily a Gnome guy now.
The only thing I miss is a coding program like Kate. Gedit can do some
of the syntax hilighting, but not like Kate.
Anyone recommend any good syntax hilighting program editors like Kate
but for Gnome? I don't like Emacs, and xvim is not what I want. I want a
real gui app, not a cli in a gui window!
Thanks for the help.
