A little off topic, apologies in advance-
A friend of mine in PA has some major grief with his IMac. He tells me
that he has only two USB ports on the thing, apparently no serial ports,
and that both of them are now trashed. He says the physical ports pretty
much fell apart, and will not even hold a cable any more. His local
repair shop quoted him $500 plus labor to fix (apparently they were just
going to do a motherboard swap?) which he does not have. At this point,
he can't even get the data off his hard drive, as both the keyboard and
mouse are USB.
Is there any low-cost fix or work-around for an IMac in this condition?
