I have a printer connected to a small Debian (stable woody) box. I want
to print from my Windows box using the drivers on the Windows box (the
Linux drivers for the printer are not very good). I did the following:

1. Installed the printer drivers on the Windows box (98 and 2000) and
tested printing through the parallel port. It worked.

2. Installed Samba and SWAT on the Linux box. I can talk to Samba using
Swat from the Windows box.

3. I started Add Printer on the Windows box, added a network printer,
found the samba machine and the printer, and added the printer to my
printers' folder.

4. I click on the newly installed printer, click on properties, and then
print test page. I get an error message (test page failed to print) on
the Windows box, but the samba log file is empty (the file is created,
however). If I open Notepad and try to send a print job, I do not get an
error, but nothing prints out and the log file is still empty.

I think my printcap file is wrong, but I am not sure. Here it is
