Actually, I think that's already done for most cars. I can't seem to
find the website, but I know I saw a site where a guy was writing free
software for engine diagnosis. The trick is that you need a protocol
converter box to anything that is useful for the PC. I want to say it
used that automotive bus... CAN? I don't remember.
