Subject: OT:dead mobo = dead memory and dead cpu?
Howdy.

I got done building a case made of oak a few weeks ago and while
installing the mobo and psu I fried the the psu and I am not sure what
else. I fried the psu by shorting it through a win modem (oh well...)
and I do not have a speaker to hook up to the motherboard. The
motherboard does power up when the power switch is closed. Nothing post
to the screen even with a vid card that is known to be work.

My question is if there is any chance if the ram or cpu is still good?
Would it be dangerous to test the components in other systems?
Could I use a multimeter somehow to work as a speaker?
How bout a normal (boxed) speaker, or would the mobo not have enough
power to drive it?

BTW the case is kickass!
