I'm curious, but did you try spending 19.99 on a "card-reader"? Instead
of trying to mount the camera, you might have better luck hooking up a
card reader and using that.

Yet another reason to consider Debian. :)

Seriously, you should look at Debian. There is more of a curve getting a
system up and running, but it is CONSIDERABLY more easy to maintain it.
