What is it about Slackware that you dislike? Packagewise Slackware is
pretty up-to-date. Of course, Slackware doesn't do a little of
hand-holding like Mandrake and RedHat.
For a little extra polish try installing Dropline Gnome (
www.dropline.net ) which really adds the finishing touches - Xine,
totem, Mozilla 1.4, Evolution 1.4.4, GIMP 1.2.5, GnomeMeeting 0.98.1.
