Okay. I have some stuff to get rid of; if anyone is interested, I can bring
it to the East Side meeting on Thursday, either to get rid of or as a door
prize. (:still remembers seeing the 'winner' some months back making off with
his 19" monitor weighing approx 400kg :) )
SuperMac CM2186A3UY colour monitor. This was posted about on the ASULUG
list, and nobody expressed interest. When I first tested it, it wouldn't power up
(you on ASULUG will recall my panicked post on this after first offering the
unit), but now it does-- for some reason, leaving it plugged into the mains
for 10 minutes seemed to bring it back. This is a 21" monitor, fixed-frequency
with 3 BNC connectors. It weighs approx. 300kg. I can't make it work with my
x86 without investing more money in adaptors than I want to, but it might
work with some bizarre old box you have.
HP 712/60 pizza box. 128Mb RAM (this is 72-pin SIMMs!), 1Gb SCSI hard disc.
System was equipped with some sort of HP-UX secure extension, and now I can't
get back in. :) Useful if you have the media to reinstall, or for parts.
Plextor UltraPlex SCSI CD-ROM. Model PX-32TSi Came with a case I bought, no
SCSI equipment to test with. When powered up with just a power cable, the
'On/Busy' light comes on and the eject switch functions normally.
Also, I'm feeling awfully underwhelmed with Slack 9.0. Can anyone with a
fast CD burner and a recent Linux-Mandrake distro run me off a set of the
redistributable version? I can give you some of my blanks to replace the ones you
use.
Thanks.
