Problems with a SPARC 5 and Qwest DSL Modem

Can the SPARC ping other computers through that interface (when you connect it,
does that interface work?)? Is there a firewall running on the SPARC (Linux 2.2
you'd probably do "ipchains -L" to list the rules)?
