Last Sunday I compiled, and recompiled, and recompiled, and ... until I
got 2.6.0-test2 to run on my laptop. I reported the call traces that
appeared in my logs and most of them got fixed in 2.6.0-test3, which I'm
running right now.
I/O bandwidth-wise, my 300MHz PII notebook, feels like a GHz processor. Of
course, the feeling falls flat on its face once CPU intensive work occurs
(Now why can't linux make the CPU faster :-).
Music doesn't skip, Mozilla can run with 16 tabs and not fight other apps
for RAM, and other memory-hogging programs run without bogging down the
system.
