Or you could say that: this is an example of how the GPL isn't as free as
the BSD license since it doesn't protect your freedoms. If this had been
software under the GPL license there would be no way to allow binary only.
Depends on your point of view. Because some others may want the "freedom"
to take some code and make something proprietary of it.
(Of course, since it is the GPL'd Linux, then this is not allowed.)
