Better - is probably a judgement call...squirrelmail is smaller and
simpler.

IMP sits on top of Horde which is far more ambitious and far more
difficult to get working but if you look at the horde site...

you should be able to see the many different packages that have come
available. For one user, squirrelmail is probably scaled better.
