I, a while ago, tried to upgrade my RPM version. It sucked, I don't
think that I ever got it working completely. It comes down to a boot
strapping problem with the RPM database - where you need to use the 3.x
database to install four, and then convert the database. I believe at
the end of all that, you end up loosing your 3.x database. It was a
mess.
I know that's not really want you wanted to hear :) But, as advice I'd
make sure to backup your RPM database before you give it a try.
