Subject: Reverse Telnet
If you have an IP session to a Cisco router, you attach a session to the
serial port and change modem settings, port speed, number of rings, dial
back, etc... and save it to NVRAM on the modem.

I'm guessing you could connect to /dev/{port of modem}?
