I installed Debian 3.0 on an older 486 laptop and it seems to work - network
comes up, I can login, I can ssh from another machine, etc. I then tried to
install a pcmcia hard drive, but I cannot get the OS to recognize that the
drive exits when it boots. My network card is pcmcia, so I am pretty sure that
is working. I used modconf to enable the ide module for pcmcia, but that did
not solve the problem.
Any suggestions on how to get the drive to work would be greatly appreciated!
