i dont know if this will help you. but i was able to play a .wav from the
plugger test page in opera 6.0 @
http://fredrik.hubbe.net/plugger/test.html,
by editing preferences/applications=audio/x-wav, select "Open with other
Application" and choose /usr/bin/xmms. I dont know if this will work in your
situation, but from the plugger test page i was able to click on the WAV link
to the left and play test.wav.
