You can check out x.mame.net for an arcade emulator. There are many different kinds out there. software.linux.com has links to many other sites also.

oh, well that i am not sure about. i'm a 3D shooter guy, and i like flight
sims and racing sims. but i use to play with this Arcade emulator that was
great, played all the old Arcade games that i enjoyed playing as a kid. i
cant remember the name of it, but if you look hard enough i know you can find
an arcade emulator for Linux. but linux comes with many 2D non-violent games,
what titles are you wanting to run?
