OK, I'm trying to setup an old server for my Mom to begin using as an internal
testing box until she can decide how she is going to get her sites on the Web.
I started out by trying an old HP Netserver LXE Pro (Quad PPro 200) that was
sitting in the computer room. Installed fine, downloaded the updates from RH
and went to build a few of them (e.g. Glibc) to make them built specifically for
the 686 SMP environment. Needless to say the compile locked up the machine and
now for some reason won't boot (this isn't the problem I need solved :) ).
So, to get her a machine that is working while I fix the %$%$#%$#@%$% Netserver,
I grabbed a Desktop machine from the Garage (Integraph TDZ-610). It currently
runs Windows NT4 sp3 which is loaded on the RAID array on a Mylex DAC960P. This
same card is in the Netserver and RH7.2 identified it fine and installed with
only a few hitches, but it found the card. In the integraph it doesn't even see
the card, it only loads the modules for the Adaptec AIC-78XX cards.
Searched google and all I found is people complaining about the dac960.o driver
not compiling for the kernel, well that is all well and good, but I can't even
get RH to install to rebuild the kernel.
So my question is, how the bloody hell do I get the RH installer to load the
dac960.o module so it can find the RAID Array and let me install it? I can use
expert install mode, but don't have a copy of that module to put on a floppy for
the installer to use.
