Sounds like you need to run some diagnostics. I would try a boot disk
and run 'memtest86', I suspect your memory or your motherboard. Also
check for heat issues, are all your fans running? I've seen some
strange things caused by overheating CPUs.
As a last resort, pull the disk out and put it in a different machine
(assuming you have one) and run some diags on it...
Or, just kick it. ;)
