"Now through December 31, 2001, Switch to Inficad DSL for FREE!" ==> No setup fees.
Just call them up. 602-265-4423. Inficad/GetNet. This offer is not on their web site.
Supposedly the switch to MSN happened at the end of October. My Qwest.net email addresses seem to still work, but then I don't use them
at all. A client told me last week that an email he sent out to a list of his agents had a bunch of them returned -- they were all to
@qwest.net addresses with an explanation that they've changed to @msn.com. However, business customers are not being required to
switch. I wrote them a letter and sent emails saying I refused to switch to MSN. (It was a little worse than that -- I sent a letter
to their corporate HQ asking what their policy was for engaging in business with companies convicted of federal crimes, and asked why
they'd force their customers to switch to service provided by a company convicted on both the court and appellate level of violating the
Sherman Antitrust act -- since that smells an awful lot like complicity to me!)
I've never heard anything back regarding my refusal to switch, but I did get a call from someone who claimed to be an administrative
assistant in their Executive Offices thanking me for my letter and saying that it would be discussed in the next board meeting. Lot of
good it does now, huh?
