try switching the drives around. make the linux primary and windows
secondary. Then configure /etc/lilo.conf to add the secondary drive
(/dev/hdb1) as an option. That way you have lilo in control of your
booting. Dont forget to issue the command "lilo" when you're done
editing. I wish I had an example lilo.conf to show you, but these
two machines are single OS (linux didn't like this pavillion very
much *shrug*). But my machine will be running prolly Mandrake 8.1
with Winblows2K running in VMWare. :o)
