Subject: RPM spec files

\_ Yeah, I guess that works...but doing that on an ethereal source gives me a
\_ 626 line output. I was hoping for some magical trick that would give you
\_ an actual file list :)

Heh. Steal the spec file out of one of the pre baked ethereal source
rpms. :-) Also, I'm not sure, but something clever with chroot may
lead to successfull generation of file listings. I think rpm builds
do this.

\_ I don't know of any way to do such a thing, but
\_ twould be slick :)

There's always the web. Try the www.rpm.org site for links for docs
and stuff. HOWTO and all that.

\_ 626 line make -n install results tend to make rpm building about as
\_ enjoyable as grouting tile :)

I remember the good old days when make -n was comprehensible and the
files weren't as portable. Makefiles were an art and a good one was a
joy to work with. *sigh*

I also remember launching 'make world' on the X tree was good for
soaking the cpu for the better part of a day.
