[OT] android phone, possible to get a good deal?

It's nice to not be stuck to a particular provider, but you might also 
want to consider that you are going to pay a premium to buy an unlicked 
phone and then pay  the same price for service that still includes the 
phone subsidy.

In other words, you probably aren't going to change carriers, but if you 
do, the $150 for the price of a droid with a contract + $250 to buy out 
the contract will be about the same or less than if you just bought the 
phone and went month to month.

I would just look for a phone that can be easily unlocked so that you 
can take it to your next service without much problem.
