Fedora beating me down... any distro suggestions?

Ok, I've tried Ubuntu in the past and wasn't over
enamored with it. I didn't think it was bad. I just
found other KDE-based distros to have more intuitive
menus.... but I come from a heavy windows background
sooo.... (oh and yes I know about Kubuntu)

I'll try it again since I've been using Fedora 4 w/
Gnome for 2+ months. Yes, I do like Debian based
distros in general especially for Apt & Synaptic.
(Synaptic works on Fedora using apt4rpm, but be
careful  using it unless you don't want to use Yum at
all.)

Anyone used and compared Mepis to Ubuntu? (other than
gnome vs kde comparisons)
